Canadian Walnut
Canadian Walnut, often referring to Juglans cinerea or the Butternut tree, is native to Eastern Canada and parts of the northeastern U.S. The wood is light brown with a hint of yellow or gray, offering a softer, more subtle look compared to other walnut species. It’s known for its fine, straight grain and ease of carving, making it popular in furniture making, cabinetry, and woodturning. While not as hard or durable as its American or Asian counterparts, Canadian Walnut still provides good strength and stability for various woodworking projects.
